December, 2018 – Showing strong solidarity and support, delegates at the 58th convention of the BC Federation of Labour elected Brother Laird Cronk by acclamation to serve a two-year term as the new president of the provincial labour body. Joining him in the other top officer position as secretary-treasurer is Sister Sussanne Skidmore, a prominent long-time labour activist and an elected Vice President of the BCGEU.
“We are stronger and better as a labour movement when we work together,” Cronk said in a speech to delegates. “Let’s get this job done. Let’s get out there together. Let’s build.”
Local 258 IBEW extends congratulations to Brother Cronk who is the IBEW International Rep for BC, Alberta and the Yukon and has most recently served on the BC Fed Executive in addition to chairing the Fed’s Apprenticeship and Skills Training Working Group.
