IBEW supports Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada with Annual Golf Tournament

This year’s Local 258 Golf Tournament to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada was another great success. Participants in this year’s tournament, organized by Dan Klassen and Mark Davison, played at Burnaby Mountain Golf Course and raised $10,100 for the Society. These funds will be used to help support much needed research and many of the programs the Society runs.

One of the research programs currently underway at UBC aims to improve the overall health of people with Multiple Sclerosis and the Society invites people with MS to participate in this questionnaire driven study. For more information, please contact Dr. Verena Strehlau at vstrehlau@brain.ubc.ca or Michelle Eisner at 604-827-3111.

Members dig deep to support kids

IBEW members supporting the Store 1 MMBU Golf Tournament this year took on a worthy cause and raised $1630 to donate to the children of our members who have died on the job. Local 258 ABM Dan Klassen reports the funds were raised by selling tickets for donated prizes, and as soon as members heard where the money was going, ticket sales took off! Many thanks to Brother Rick Gerrard for helping out with this worthy cause.
