I’d like to thank our members who have participated in our recent virtual town hall meetings and invite you to join us at the next opportunity as we have lined up some dates for future meetings. Feedback has been very positive with these informal meetings and we continue to wait for the all-clear to resume in-person gatherings.
Nominations are now open for delegates to this year’s IBEW Convention, scheduled for Chicago in September and official notices have now been sent from President Dave McMinn to your home address via postal mail with details. You can also log-in to your website at www.ibew258.bc.ca to find out more. Deadline for nominations is April 16, 2021 and will be followed by a mail ballot vote for the successful delegates.
Your Union’s Executive board has now determined the topic for this year’s essay and the 2021 application is now available for download for the Local 258 IBEW Tom Forkin Memorial Scholarship. Deadline to apply is Friday, April 30, 2021.
Our Women’s Committee invites you to consider joining and/or supporting them as they organize a team for the RUN FOR WOMEN by Shoppers Drug Mart, a virtual walk/run event to raise funds for BC Women’s Health Foundation programs.

We still have a few tickets left for the IBEW First District $20,000 Cash Draw and you can call the Local 258 IBEW Union Hall at 604-520-3305 or toll free 1-877-520-3305 to purchase your ticket(s) by phone with your credit card today. Tickets are $100 each and proceeds will assist funding the IBEW First District International Representatives reception at this year’s International Convention, scheduled to take place in Chicago in September.
If you need to visit your Union headquarters in Langley, please remember to call ahead to schedule an appointment (604-520-3305). Upon arrival, you will be asked to complete a COVID-19 questionnaire, wear a mask, sanitize your hands, maintain physical distance and follow all instructions from our COVID-19 safety trained support staff.
COVID-19 vaccination availability is ramping up in BC with frequently updated public information linked to our COVID-19 Resources page on your Union website.
The next stat holiday is Good Friday, April 2nd, followed by your Union negotiated holiday Easter Monday on April 5th.
