Master Line Agreement ratified

After more than four months of intense negotiations , including issuing strike notice, members working the Master Line Agreement voted overwhelmingly in favour of ratifying a new contract on May 23rd via digital vote. The agreement was recommended by both the mediator after two days of hearings, and the Local 258 IBEW Bargaining Committee, led by Sr.

Arbitration Award Decision re: Union's Policy Grievance

POSTED WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23, 2022 The Union filed a grievance over B.C. Hydro’s decision to implement a Policy requiring that bargaining unit employees be vaccinated by November 22, 2021 or be held out of service. The Policy also provided that “Those employees who remain unvaccinated may be subject to discipline up to and including termination of their employment”.

POSTED FEBRUARY 25, 2022 Twenty-four months ago, Local 258 IBEW President Dave McMinn suspended all in-person Unit Meetings across the province when public health orders were issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic limiting public gatherings. The suspension was approved by IBEW Canada.

The winter storms have been keeping many of our members very busy with electrical infrastructure and equipment repairs, traffic diversions and fallen tree clearing and cleanup resulting from power outages that have affected hundreds of thousands of British Columbians.
