This webinar is designed for IBEW apprentices, IBEW members, and IBEW leaders; please join us to learn more about your history, their history, our history.

The next IBEW First District webinar is titled, “Membership Engagement”. This webinar will explore the various avenues for members to get involved in not only their Local Union but the greater labour movement. We’ll look at everything from labour and building trade councils to political action and community organizations. Regardless of your interests, the labour movement has a place for you to get involved.

This webinar has taken place on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.


The next IBEW First District webinar is titled "Introduction To Organizing", and includes an overview of the IBEW’s approach to bringing in new members. You’ll also learn how important it is for members to take an interest in organizing, what tools are available and how to help your local union become more successful. This webinar is geared towards those who have little to no knowledge of organizing, however we welcome members at all levels of knowledge to attend.

This webinar has taken place on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

The IBEW Code of Excellence (COE) ensures the highest standards of excellence for all our industries. The program is designed to instill a sense of pride and professionalism in our members so that the IBEW is seen as the first choice for the job. Join this webinar to learn more about the history of the Code of Excellence program, a quick overview of the training, and how the COE is implemented.

From IBEW Canada's NextGen e-news - Thank you to all who participated in our latest webinar, "Introduction to Stewardship" held November 18th and December 2nd. Webinar Wednesdays will take a brief break over the holidays and will return in 2021 with all new webinars.  In the meantime we will be rolling out recordings from previous webinars on the IBEW Canada YouTube page.  Looking forward to seeing everyone again next year!

The next IBEW First District Webinar Wednesday online event will take place on December 2nd starting at 6:00 pm PST with "Introduction to Stewardship". 

Having a Union Steward is one of the important benefits you gain from belonging to a Union. Their role is multifaceted and supports many of the Union's activities. Take some time to learn a quick overview of a Union Steward, from their origins in the 1898 engineering industry to modern day. We will look into how they are appointed as well as their roles and responsibilities. 

Please note that this course is on "Introduction to Stewardship" and does not replace IBEW Stewards training.

The next IBEW First District Webinar Wednesday online event will take place on November 4th starting at 6:00 pm PDT with "Common Sense Economics Part 2". 

This popular economics webinar was initially billed as a one event, but due to participant interest and engagement we’re going to delve deeper into the material in a continuation of the subject matter and expand on the themes and topics previously discussed. Pre-registration required.

The IBEW First District is hosting an online webinar series about Canadian Labour History, starting on Wednesday, August 5 with Part 1, starting at 6:00 pm PDT. This topic covers labour history up to the end of World War II.

Canadian Labour History Part 2 will cover the time period from the end of WW II to present day and this webinar will take place on Wednesday, September 9 starting at 6 pm PDT.
