Local 258 IBEW members lend a hand to build Lights of Hope display
Updated On: Feb 02, 2021

POSTED NOVEMBER 17, 2020

The spectacular multi-level lights and stars display adorning the front of St. Paul’s Hospital on Burrard Street in Vancouver has been set up again this year with help from Local 258 IBEW members. This year, members working at Trueline Power and Prime Traffic Solutions shared their time and expertise, and following COVID-19 safety protocols, helped with many aspects of getting this popular display built.

The Lights of Hope display raises important funding for St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation to provide a wide variety of much-needed patient-centered and research initiatives and sets the festive mood for this busy streetscape in downtown Vancouver.

One of the longest continuous supporters of this annual event, Local 258 IBEW has participated with the Lights of Hope for more than 10 years.

This year’s lighting ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 19 at 6:00 pm and will be a community celebration virtual event that you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home by joining the online broadcast – sign up for details here. The light display will run until January 4, 2021, and you can support this major fundraiser by donating online, over the phone or, if you’re in the area, via the interactive Living Light display at the front of the hospital.

This year’s fundraiser also features an opportunity to participate in the “Hope at Home” fundraiser by making a special purchase of an illuminated star lantern for hanging in your own window at home. Find out more here.

Many thanks to our Local 258 IBEW members for your participation and to the employers who helped make this happen. And thanks to Ted Pennell from Trueline Power for sending forward the photo.
