Langley, BC — Local 258 is announcing that we have entered into a Project Labour Agreement with Valard Construction for the Enbridge Aspen Point 287kV transmission project.

Valard Construction was the successful bidder on this project. While we were naturally disappointed that our signatory contractors were not selected for this project, Local 258 recognizes the Aspen Point PLA as a valuable opportunity to establish a relationship with Valard’s management team and employees.

“This agreement represents a step forward towards building a long term relationship,” said Cody Gatzke, Business Manager and Financial Secretary. “It gives us the chance to work directly with Valard and demonstrate the value of partnering with IBEW.”

This PLA applies exclusively to the Aspen Point Project and is not applicable to any other work in the Province. Valard remains unorganized and is not signatory to Local 258’s Master Line Agreement.
