Langley, BC — Local 258 is announcing that we have entered into a Project Labour Agreement with Valard Construction for the Enbridge Aspen Point 287kV transmission project. Valard Construction was the successful bidder on this project.

October 15, 2025 LANGLEY, B.C. — Local Union 258 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers has submitted an open letter to the Honourable Jennifer Whiteside, Minister of Labour, calling for an immediate investigation into a BC Hydro contract awarded to a contractor who utilizes out-of-province labour.

To: All IBEW members at BCH We hope you all enjoyed your summer. As we move into the fall, bargaining with your employer will resume after talks broke off back in June. We want to provide you with an update on our progress along with some context on the broader public sector. When were we last at the bargaining table.

Our brother, Mike Perry, has tragically and unexpectedly passed away on October 5th, leaving behind his loving wife Hannah and their five beautiful children, aged between 3 and 13. We ask that you please consider donating if you have the means to. Rest in peace Mike.
