News from IBEW First District - Thank you to everyone who submitted their names and essays for the 2021 IBEW First District Scholarships Award; we received entries this year from 142 applicants.

A random draw was made this morning at the First District Office, and it is our pleasure to announce the following winners:

Jessica Bullock – Local Union 1687, Sudbury, ON

Jennifer Doubleday – Local Union 625, Halifax, NS

Danion Espenell – Local Union 2034, Winnipeg, MB

Riley Lemieux– Local Union 1555, Moncton, NB

Teresa Hao – Local Union 424, Edmonton, AB

We, at the First District Office, and the other sponsors (TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and AIL) wish these dedicated young people a successful year in their continued education.

December 22, 2020 - American Income Life and TD Insurance Meloche Monnex, in conjunction with the IBEW First District, are offering five (5) Scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each to all IBEW members and their families who are in studies pursuing a post-secondary diploma or degree.

An application must be submitted to the IBEW First District office no later than February 12, 2021, and must be accompanied by a brief essay (done by the applicant) outlining the benefits of belonging to the IBEW.

A random draw will be held at the First District Office on February 19, 2021, followed by an announcement identifying the five winners.
