Local 258 IBEW Union office staffing updates - March, 2020

March, 2020 – As reported in the January 2020 issue of the Hotline magazine, Brother Jim McKay has retired from working as the Local 258 IBEW Dispatcher and the Union welcomes Brother Noel Johnston who has been hired and is now working full-time in this role. Brother Doug McKay thanks Brother Walter Goodwin who filled in on a temporary basis and, on behalf of staff at the office and the Union membership, wishes Brother McKay all the best in his retirement.
Brother Dan Klassen, long serving Assistant Business Manager and former worker at BC Hydro, has decided it’s time to retire. A celebratory luncheon was held by staff at the Union office and Local 258 IBEW wishes Dan all the best in his retirement.
Brother Doug McKay, Business Manager, has now assigned Brother Rob Munro to take on Brother Klassen’s servicing area on Vancouver Island.
Sister Dayna Gill, who works in Traffic Control and currently serves as Chair of Unit 6 and the Local 258 IBEW Women’s Committee, has been hired in a temporary role at the Union office to work alongside Sister Nicole Biernaczyk servicing members who work in traffic control and electrical manufacturing. Sister Gill will also be working in Membership Development and Organizing.
