Tomorrow, April 28th, is the National Day of Mourning, a day where Canada’s labour movement traditionally gathers to honour and pay tribute to workers who have been killed or injured on the job and who are suffering or have died as a result of occupational injury or disease. Please join with us tomorrow morning at 10:30 am for a moment of silence.

On behalf of Brother Doug McKay, Business Manager, all ABM staff and Executive Board members, Local 258 IBEW supports and appreciates our members who are working in these very challenging time as you do your part to keep the power flowing and contribute to the Province’s electric utility industry. As essential workers, at BC Hydro, at private power line contractor companies, in electrical manufacturing, performing utility arborist/tree trimming work and in traffic control, we know you are working hard every day to ensure we are doing our part to help keep everyone safe and healthy, and your Union thanks you.

The Union Hall in Langley remains closed to visitors until further notice and administrative support staff are practicing social distancing and frequent handwashing measures while they are at work. Brother Doug McKay and all Assistant Business Managers remain working remotely representing and assisting members with workplace issues. Your Union is here for you. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly if you need any assistance with any workplace issue. Doug McKay is available directly at any time at 604-209-4067.
