| Members working at BC Hydro reject tentative agreement - January, 2020 |

January 29, 2020 - Members of Local 258 IBEW working at BC Hydro have voted to reject the tentative agreement reached by both sides in mid-December 2019 following many months of difficult negotiations.
"The mail-in ballots were counted today and the majority of our voting our members have rejected this agreement by a margin of 63%", said Doug McKay, the Union's Business Manager. "Our members have sent a clear message and we will be reaching out to our members in the next few days to discuss the next steps. We thank our members for participating in this democratic process."
Local 258 IBEW represents more than 2,000 skilled trades professionals working at BC's public utility who have been without a collective agreement since April 1, 2019.
