UPDATE, February 18, 2020 - The First District IBEW has announced the Scholarship Award winners:

Jillian Noyes– Local Union 636, Toronto, ON
Hannah Milic – Local Union 213, Vancouver, BC
The First District Office, and the other sponsors (TD Insurance Meloche Monnex and AIL) wish these dedicated young people a successful year in their continued education.
December, 2019 - IBEW First District (Canada), in conjunction with AIL and TD Insurance Meloche Monnex, is pleased to announce that five (5) scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each will be made available to all Canadian IBEW members and their families, who are currently enrolled in full or part-time studies, or who are currently in pursuit of a post- secondary diploma or degree (applied to and/or accepted by institution).
The IBEW 1st District office, AIL and TD Insurance Meloche Monnex realize the importance of continuing post-secondary education and skill development and are offering these scholarships to help interested union members and their families achieve their educational goals.
All applicants are required to submit a brief essay (the applicant must do the essay themselves) outlining the benefits of belonging to the IBEW. These essays will become the property of the IBEW and following a validation of each candidate, the successful applicants will be decided by holding a random draw.
Members who are interested in being awarded one of the scholarships for themselves or their family member are to complete the attached form and then forward it to the IBEW 1st District Office, along with your essay.
All entrants must be received by Friday, February 14th, 2020, and a random draw will be held on February 18th, 2020.
