The BC Government has cautiously announced the province is moving into Phase 3 of managing the COVID-19 pandemic. This does not mean we can let our guard down as this highly contagious and deadly virus has not gone away. All of us must make the extra effort to continue to limit our personal social “bubbles” and interactions, continue to practice physical distancing, prioritize hand washing and wear a mask where indicated. Most importantly – stay home if you are feeling unwell or sick. Your Union thanks you for supporting our community and doing your part, both at work and at home, that has contributed to our success in managing the pandemic in BC, so far.

There were no Unit Meetings scheduled for July & August and a decision to resume meetings in September has not been made – a lot depends on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime, your Union’s Executive Board has consulted with the IBEW First District and has received permission to post the minutes of their meetings on your password-protected Local 258 IBEW website.
The Union’s Executive Board continues to conduct regular monthly meetings by conference call and the next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Minutes of this meeting will be posted on your Union password-protected website.
The next Stat Holiday is: Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
