September 29, 2020 - A much-appreciated donation from our Local 258 IBEW Women's Committee was recently delivered to Atira Women’s Resource Society in Vancouver’s downtown east side. Sister Dayna Gill, Chair of our Women’s Committee and Local 258 ABM, transported the donation that included toiletry items collected from delegates at the 2019 Bridging the Gap conference and useful items gathered at December’s Unit 5 & 6 meetings.

Thanks to Sister Vicki Flett for the mini-duffle bags, and a special thank you goes to Sister Joanne Delage for her generous donation of beautiful hand-knitted toque/scarf sets. In a thank you letter sent to her Union, Joanne wrote, “Every toque/scarf set is made with love and intention that the wearer be supported in their struggles. And I use wool I cherish love, not anything less.”

Atira supports women and children affected by domestic violence and our Local 258 IBEW Women’s Committee would like to thank everyone who donated these very much appreciated items.
