October 10, 2020 – Brother Doug McKay, Local 258 IBEW Business Manager/Financial Secretary has advised that with careful consideration and following all public health and safety protocols, the Local 258 IBEW Union Hall in Langley will re-open to members and visitors, effective Tuesday, October 13, after the Thanksgiving stat holiday weekend.
“I would like to thank our members for their patience and understanding during this ongoing pandemic,” says McKay. “We hope this is a permanent situation, and we remain vigilant in monitoring all public health announcements and guidelines.”
McKay notes that staff have received COVID-19 pandemic protocol training and plexiglass barriers have been installed where necessary.
All Assistant Business Managers based in Langley have returned from working at home to working at the Hall, when not out in the field, and support staff continue to work on-site.
McKay adds, “If you choose to visit us, please follow all our protocols and instructions, including using our complimentary hand sanitizer and maintaining physical distancing, or wearing a mask if you won’t be able to physically distance. If you do not feel well, please stay home and contact your doctor – do not visit us and do not go to work.”
The Union has complimentary cloth masks branded with our Local 258 IBEW logo available at the front desk.
In addition, President Dave McMinn advises that the Union’s Executive Board continues to conduct monthly meetings via conference call and Unit Meetings remain cancelled for the foreseeable future.
