National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
Updated On: Dec 06, 2020

December 6th is the anniversary of the horrific mass murder of 14 women at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal 31 years ago, in 1989.

in 1991, Canada’s Parliament formally recognized this date as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in an effort to acknowledge the sense of grief associated with this loss and reflect on the impact of violence against women in our society.
